For 2018, the Lady Taverners Indoor Finals were hosted at the Spitfire Ground, home of Kent Cricket, and based out of the Ames Levett Indoor School. Four representatives competed in both the Under 13 and Under 15 age groups, to become the Kent Champions and claim their place in the Regional Stages.
Supported by two tireless umpires from the Kent ACO, plenty of dedicated teachers and with the much valued support of Kent Sport, the competition and atmosphere were vibrant all day.
As in previous years, the competition was built around a series of cluster events across 3 venues around the county. There were a number of closely fought games and the standard of cricket and was very pleasing to see, with some one-handed catches, slick team run outs and huge hits for 6 to the back wall. It was Kent College who won the County Trophy at the U13 age group and Kings School, Canterbury, who won the U15 Competition, These two squads will progress through to the regional competition hosted by the ECB and get the chance to make it through to the National Finals.
Congratulations also to Sevenoaks School, Hayes School, Sutton Valence School, Trinity School and Colfes School for making it through the clusters to the County Final.
Kent Cricket are extremely grateful to the following venues for making their sports hall(s) available in support of this competition...
- Colfes School
- Ames Levett Indoor Academy, Canterbury
- Sutton Valence School
We wish the two winning schools the best of luck for the next stage.
