Hayes Girls are Regional Champions

Hayes CC Girls became South of England champions at the U13 and U15 age groups this month in the Lady Taverners ECB Competition.

In the Regional Finals the U13 Girls beat Spencer by 7 wickets and earned their place in the National finals in Derby. In the National Semis they faced J&G Meakin beating them by 5 wickets. In the National Finals against Corbridge, it was a close game with 5 runs needed off the last over. Hayes only managed 3 of them, so lost out by 2 runs and Ryana Macdonald-Gay top scored with 43 in the run chase.

In the Regional Finals the U15 Girls made the trek to Ealing and beat them by 63 runs. In the National Semis Hayes U15 Girl's played Porthill Park and won by 4 wickets, making it through to the National Finals. Ryana had the remarkable figures of 4 wickets in 3 overs for 3 runs! Hayes then faced Sessay CC who were a strong team and in spite of 57 from Grace Jennings, Hayes lost by 37 runs.

Congratulations to both teams for their National runners up status.
